Distinct Photoluminescence Enhancement of Supercritical Water Reacted Tin Dioxide

摘要

Intrinsic stoichiometric SnO_2 has no photoluminescence effect. However, it is found that supercritical water reacted SnO_2 show pronounced photoluminescence (PL) phenomenon. Thermal gravimetric analysis measurement reveals that a molar ratio (H_2O : SnO_2 = 1 : 10) of water is introduced into the SnO_2 structure after the supercritical hydrothermal reaction. The mechanism of the PL is attributed to low-coordinated tin with oxygen vacancies caused by dissociative water adsorption. Moreover, the optical absorption spectra of the supercritical water reacted SnO_2 are matched by two configurations from ab-initio calculation.
