摘要

To obtain a small photon spot useful for surface analytical purposes we proposed in an earlier publication (J. Electron Spectrosc. Rel. Phenom., 60 (1992 1) and optical arrangement of three zone-plates (a combination of a monochromator for Synchrotron radiation and focusing elements). The present paper reports on the first experimental tests of this proposed device, Performed at a dipole-magnet beamline of the electron storage ring BESSY in Berlin. The photon energy resolution (Δe≈2.0 EV) and the focus diameter (Δx≈15 μm) obtained at photon energies hω=500-600 eV are in quantitative agreement with Ray-tracing calculations that take into account the electron beam parameters within the storage ring.
