Three-tower design shiploader for CMT

Italy-based Bedeschi has commissioned a "three-tower design" of shiploader at Sun-Coke Energy's Convent Marine Terminal (CMT) near Convent, Louisiana. With a rated capacity of 6,000 tph, the shiploader can load vessels in the 50,000-180,000 dwt range at the CMT coal terminal, located on the Mississippi River. The shiploader consists of three slewing tower loaders with telescopic shuttles. Tower three (SHL-3) receives coal from storage and controls the distribution to the two loading towers downstream (SHL-2 and SHL-1) by means of a diverting hopper. SHL-2 can also divert the coal to SHL-1, or directly load all of the coal received from SHL-3.
