Green light for Porto Sudeste

The State Environment Institute of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, has granted LLX a licence to proceed with the construction of its Porto Sudeste port project. The environmental go-ahead will help the company secure finance from Brazil's National Economic and Social Development Bank (BNDES).rnThe new port will be located at Itaguai in the south of Rio de Janeiro state. To be developed by LLX Logistica, it is aimed at mixed use, although it will primarily handle export iron ore from Mi-nas Gerais.
