Chinese funding for Mbalam

Sundance Resources is relying on Chinese investment to develop its Mbalam iron ore project in Cameroon. The company has now signed two memoranda of understanding relating to the development of transport infrastructure required to handle the ore: with China Harbour Engineering Company for a study on the construction of the proposed bulk materials port of Lolabe in Cameroon, and with China-Africa Construction regarding the development of a new railway from the mine westwards to the port, plus the provision of rolling stock. The port will be located to the south of the existing oil port of Kribi.
