Botswana looks to Mozambique

The governments of Botswana and Mozambique have made more progress on their plan for a new coal railway and port in southern Mozambique. The two governments signed a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) in late July on the construction of a deepwater coal port in the Techobanine region in the far south of Mozambique plus a 1,100km railway to connect the port to coal mines in Botswana. This replaced an earlier MoU relating to the $7B project.
