Determined to improve its competitive position in the Black Sea region, the Ukrainian port of Yuzhny is planning to deepen its navigation canal and water area to 21m. The port has commissioned the Odessa-based research and design institute ChornomorNDIproekt to develop a project which would imply reconstruction of the harbour's approach canal, building of its turning basin and expansion of the operational water area near the harbour's berths Nos. 5, 6, 8 and 9.
