Rhenus Yuzhny Port making progress

Rhenus Yuzhny Port, a joint venture between Rhenus Port Logistics, a Moscow-based subsidiary of Rhenus, and Yuzhny Retschnoj Port, has successfully grown into a multimodal container terminal. It has completed the second enlargement phase and is continuously increasing the number of blocktrains to and from the Rhenus centre. October also saw an inland barge loaded with containers sail from the hub to the maritime port of St Petersburg for the first time in recent Russian history. Pavel Belkin, the managing director of Rhenus Yuzhny Port, said that ?we're very pleased that the expansion of our terminal is proceeding so well. The past few months have shown that demand for container handling sites is high in Moscow. The number of boxes handled in the Rhenus Yuzhny Port every month has now risen to 4,000. The logistics area in the joint venture has risen from 3,000 to more than 22,000 sqm since it was founded in January 2009.
