One step forward for Mbalam

Australian firm Sundance Resources has completed the pre-feasibility study on the Mbalam iron ore venture in Central Africa. It puts total project costs at $4.6B, including mine development and rail and port construction. The scheme involves the development of mines in both Congo-Brazzaville and Cameroon, a new export terminal at the Cameroonian Atlantic Ocean port of Kribi, a 510 km railway from Kribi to the Mbarga mine in southern Cameroon and a 70 km spur line from near Mbarga to the Nabeba mine in Congo-Brazzaville.
