Bulk trade through the Queensland port of Townsville is in for a major boost after Legend International Holdings secured a second mining lease in the Mount Isa area of the state's North West Minerals Province. Legend estimates there are 200 mt of mineral reserves in the area, with an operational life of 60 years. The company is also planning to build a fertiliser plant in Mount Isa and export the product via the port of Townsville.
