Vanino boosted by coal terminal

Construction of a new 15 Mtpa coal terminal at Burny Cape in the Russian Pacific port of Vanino is set to begin by the end of this year. Tuva Energy Industrial Corporation (TEPK) chairman Ruslan Baysarov said the facility is expected to become operational by 2016, by which time the corporation will be mining up to 5 Mtpa of coal from the Elegest deposit in Tuva, one of the country's largest coking coal fields.
