Flinders Logistics, the specialist division of South Australian port operator Flinders Ports, has won further endorsement for its containerised minerals-handling system with a new long-term contract with CristalMining Australia. The company initiated use of half-height lidded containers and tippling at berth in conjunction with miner IMX over two years ago and now also handles logistics for Hillgrove Resources and OZ Minerals. Cristal will also use the award-winning system for the transportation of mineral sands from several South Australian sites for storage and loading at Port Adelaide. After early experimentation with the port's STS gantries Flinders is now using a Gottwald MHC commissioned in January last year and has a Model 6 on order for delivery later this year.
