Grain lures Qube

Australia's grain logistics sector is in for a further shake-up with Chris Corrigan-led Qube joining forces with three heavy-hitters from the international commodities scene to form a new terminals venture. Quattro Grain is the initial joint venture between Qube and Hong Kong-based Noble Group, which will develop a multi-user grain handling facility at Port Kembla in New South Wales (NSW). As part of the joint venture, Qube and Noble have granted call options to each of two other major grain marketing businesses, Cargill and Sumitomo-owned Emerald. If exercised in full, Qube's and Noble's interest in Quattro Grain will be reduced to 30% each.
