Ukraine river restoration plan

Ukrainian grain trader Nibu-lon is urging Kiev to begin restoration of navigation on the country's two key rivers, the Dnieper and Southern Bug. The US$4-6M project aims to restore navigable waterways for international shipping. It is planned to deepen the rivers' and restore a guaranteed minimum depth to 3.65m on the Dnieper and 2.5m on the Southern Bug. This would include removing natural granite barriers from the Dnieper.
