March of the 'green giant'

Sennebogen has been referred to as a "sleeping green giant" because, on the whole, it maintains a strong but relatively low key presence, covering a broad range of higher volume crane markets, with a portfolio that includes telescopic boom (road-going truck mounted or 'static' site designs), lattice boom with rope hoists, counterbalanced designs and material handlers. These machines are available with a wide range of undercarriage designs, including tyres (normally solid or in-fill), crawler tracks and rail-mounted, while pedestal or gantry options can be specified, with customisation available to meet the operator's specific requirements. Construction of the company's original plant in Straubing started in 1959, and while this is still in use as the company's spare parts centre, as well as serving as the its headquarters, its location in the town restricted its options to expand to accommodate growth. Accordingly, a second plant was established outside the town of Straubing in 2008 that now serves as the main production facility, covering more than 125,000 m~2 of land.
