Despite tough times across the board for all consultants, Cyril Sweett has shown no lack of ambition this year, buying Padgham in Australia and Widnell in China. It is now a truly international company, with overseas operations accounting for over 60% of its order book - a global explosion that has taken just three years. Its diversification has continued apace across sectors too: a new head of enerj was appointed this year. It has worked on some of the most high profile projects in the country, managing the risks of building Crossrail and acting a QS to Parliamentary Estates.
