HS2 has called on construction firms to scale up their investment in training to take advantage of the "best pipeline [of work] they will ever see" in the UK. The £43bn project's commercial director Beth West told the Building Live conference in London last Thursday the client is committed to ensuring firms that win work on the project invest in skills and apprenticeships. West said: "We need the supply chain to understand this is the best pipeline they will ever see, so they need to make that investment in training."
