The sustainability of all types of educational buildings is important throughout all stages of their design, construction and operation. There is a general belief that better schools help build a fairer society and ultimately a better economy. To this end, the UK government has in recent times launched a number of initiatives which have not only produced better educational establishments, but also more cost-effective and sustainable buildings.
