Kier's share price continued to tumble on Tuesday as Building went to press, slumping to their lowest level since the firm was listed in 1996 after the contractor once again announced a surprise writedown at the start of the week. In a profit warning to investors, Kier, which became a listed firm again after 10 years as a private company, said its underlying operating profit would be £25m lower than previously forecast for its financial year ended 30 June 2019, while the cost of its streamlining programme, Future Proofing Kier, is set to be £15m more than expected.
