The Landmark: Landmark of the City

Central of Hong Kong has always been the key urban landscape that shapes the identity and represents the spirit of this city. The commercial complex known as Landmark, has evolved through many phases in history, from colonial merchant houses along the 19th century harbour front, to the ambitious post-war office towers that drove the success story of Hong Kong as a commercial metropolis. When the owner Hongkong Land started to re-develop a number of scattered sites around Central in 1970s, to the extend of exchanging core properties with other developers to assemble a large contiguous site, the vision was no less than to create a complex with a modern generous day-lit public atrium comparable to then global fashion.
