The 28-storey 118.40-m MG Tower (a.k.a. KBC Arteveldetoren) is the tallest building in Belgium outside Brussels, and forms the gateway to the new mixed-use 'Loop' development in Ghent. The MG Tower acts as a contemporary tall landmark for the City of Ghent known for a series of landmark tall buildings. The 24,923-sqm MG Tower creates a strong identifiable image for the KBC bancassurance, the end user of the building. The architecture feels timeless, an effect that has been created through meticulous stonework detailing and the subtle concealment of the technical installations within the lower courtyards and beneath the cantilever of the building.
