Manson scoops contest for Tesco's 2020 store

Scottish practice Manson Architects has won a competition to imagine what a Tesco store might look like in the future. The Store of 2020 competition was launched by the retailer as part of plans to overhaul its store designs to increase customer satisfaction and shake offits reputation for poor architecture. Earlier this year Tesco said it would spend £400 million on improving its 2,715 stores to help it arrest falling UK profits. Manson, which has offices in Edinburgh and Dundee, was asked to come up with proposals to cut carbon emissions as well as draw up designs that would slash building costs and construction time and waste.
