Should the skateboarder community have to move from the Southbank undercroft?

Skateboarders, BMXers and graffiti writers are an important and well-known part of Southbank Centre. That's why we have been consulting with them since the launch of our refurbishment project to ensure their future. This would include a new permanent riverside skate space, comparable in size, quality and visibility to the current space, and only 120m upriver from it. But Southbank Centre is home to lots of other communities who also deserve their place, here. For example, we welcome two classrooms a day on average during term-time - and as yet, there is no place to welcome those children and bring them closer to the arts programme.
