A West Midlands man who illegally billed himself as a “residential architect” and who runs a design business that employs no qualified architects has been ordered to pay more than £4,000 in fines and costs at Birmingham Magistrates Court.Paul Lyon, aged 41, and his company Lyson Architecture – which has a registered address in Bedworth, Warwickshire – were each convicted of four charges of the criminal offence of misusing the title “architect” at a hearing earlier this month.
