The economic environment for construction remains strong in 2006. The fourth year of economic expansion will be a much better environment for the nonresidential than the residential construction market. After a brief post-hurricane rebound early in the year, GDP growth will resume slowing, dropping to a 3.0-3.5% pace by the end of 2006 and slowing further in 2007.
