Five new measures proposed for Scottish planning system

RTPI Scotland has put forward five ideas that it thinks could improve the Scottish planning system. The ideas, promulgated in three papers, focus on the need for a Chief Planning Officer in local authorities, the importance of an infrastructure-first approach, and ways to make local place plans work. By having a Chief Planning Officer in every local authority, RTPI Scotland believes planning would be integrated in investment and policy decisions from the outset.
