Glenn Close is best known for her award winning career in film, on stage and on television. However, she is also a dedicated advocate working to eliminate the discrimination and stigma associated with mental illness. In 2009, she participated in the launch of Bring Change 2 Mind (BC2M) to support this mission. The idea that led to the establishment of BC2M evolved from her first-hand observation of battles with mental illness within her family.
