Almonds: Prices from California have stabilised as origin sellers believe there is still nearby and forward buying to be covered. For that reason, they see little reason to discount the market to make sales, despite lower volumes of almonds being sold than expected in the season to date. Current high prices could firm further due to drought and lower monthly shipments. The drought is expected to impact even more on the 2015 crop. US dollar strength and euro and sterling weakness have combined to increase imported pricing.
