The formation of biofilms and the subsequent deleterious action of bacteria in the equipment used for dispensing beers, lagers and similar products has received increasing attention in recent years. Developments have included suggestions for the redesign of beer dispense systems, the use of different specification of plastic tubing and connectors, and the use of alternative cleaning products.
