Germany has built some of the world's most iconic superyachts over the years. Many such giants of the seas, built in the 1930s, are still going strong, including 359ft Sea Cloud (built by Krupp Germaniawerft) and 446ft Savarona (built by Blohm+Voss, now part of Luerssen). The average size (and complexity) of yachts has continued to grow in the past decade with the construction at Lurssen of the world's two largest superyachts, 592ft Azzam (by length) and 512ft Dilbar (by volume). The average length of the German fleet (296 yachts launched from 1870 to 2019) is 184ft ioin.
