This handbook sets out to appeal to a broad readership ofnhealthcare personnel involved in perioperative care. It isnnow in its eighth edition (first edition, 1978) and as such con-ntinues to be refined with an extensive and impressive list ofncontributors from the Massachusetts General Hospital. It isneasily portable but I would challenge the term ‘pocket size’:nit is heavy and would not fit into many white coat pockets.
