Potential harvest for wood fuels (energy wood) from logging residues and first thinnings in Southern Finland

In Finland, the increasing the share of energy based on wood is attracting growing attention. In 1996, the Finnish government decided to promote the use of bioenergy by at least 25/100 by the year 2005. The objectives set for this paper were to determine the potentaial harvest for wood fuel from logging residues and first thinnings (i.e.energy wood) in Southern Finland for the next 40 years on the basis of four cutting scenarios.
