Asian initiatives on shipping's ongoing challenges

There is no shortage of issues facing the global shipping industry. In Asia, a variety of efforts are continuously underway aimed at identifying and implementing effective solutions. As reported in Bulletin No. 5/2010, preparations were underway throughout the year for the series of Cooperative Mechanism meetings in Indonesia's historic city of Yo-gjakarta, held from 4 to 8 October. Here the 35th Tripartite Technical Expert Group (TTEG), the 3rd Co-operation Forum (CF) and the 3rd Project Coordination Committee (PCC) were convened, and for the first time industry groups were invited to participate at the TTEG and PCC meetings.
