First was pomegranate, then acai, then goji. Now, the superfruit craze continues and the latest high-antioxi-dant star on the scene is yumberry, a fruit grown and enjoyed in China for centuries. Yang-mei fruit (now called yumberry in the States) is rich in antioxidants and has a sweet-sour flavor similar to cranberry and pomegranate juice. Blood orange is another HIT this year. A type of orange, the fruit is familiar enough to appeal to mass audiences while its name and flavor gives it a somewhat exoticrnimage and the flavor has been popping up in everything from energy drinks to vodkas. Capitalizing on the growing popularity of floral flavors, hibiscus is gaining groundrnin premium bever-rnages, such as OOBA, a sparkling 100 percent natural hibiscus drink, as well as in cocktails.
