CENTRALISED VERSUS DECENTRALISED DRIVE CONTROL?

The central theme of this article is the comparison of the centralised and decentralised configurations for the low voltage power supply to the drive equipment. The comparison is based on the case of the cement mill 3, at the Nowiny works in Poland. The electrical equipment at the mill was constructed in decentralised configuration. The technical structure, investment costs, installation, start-up and the subsequent operation of the mill are considered. The comparative data for the centralised solution were determined from other projects.
