TECHNOLOGY AWARDS 2006

Technology use in financial services globally has moved towards a phase of implementation, a fact that is reflected in the high number of projects (as opposed to entirely new systems) that are rewarded here. Our judging panel noted that innovation in technology departments was less in evidence this year. For this reason, the Retail Banking and Investment/Wholesale Banking categories were split between examples of projects, looking at the best delivery and most robust results of an implementation; and innovation, addressing the newest systems and most imaginative application. The entries that have won awards represent the best work in the wqrld of finance, showing excellent delivery, return on investment, and the inspired use of technology to resolve the issues that face business currently. Our panel would like to thank all applicants - we received more than 270 entries this year - and to congratulate the winners whose hard work allowed them to stand out in the face of such strong competition.
