Built by Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group at its Zhejiang Shipyard, 'Ungundja' is an offshore construction vessel (OSV) designed by Guido Perla & Associates for France's Bourbon Offshore. 'Ungundja' marks Sinopacific's entry into the market for high-end OSVs suitable for operations in the North Sea, where weather conditions are often more adverse and environmental regulations are very high. Previously the design and construction of OSVs that met these criteria was only done in Europe and North America - this is the first ship of its kind to be built in a shipyard in China. Designed for the inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) of offshore equipment, 'Ungundja' is fully equipped for deep-water operations, with two deck cranes, the larger of which has a lift capability of 150 tonnes and a water depth reach of 3,000 metres.
