Hamriyah Free Zone - UAE's gateway to global business

Based around the 14-metre-deep port in the emirate of Sharjah, Hamriyah Free Zone (HFZ) takes pride in its contribution to local economic growth and its emergence as a growth engine for the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Established in 1995, the HFZ serves as a key commercial hub for the UAE, with extensive business facilities clustered around the port, advanced telecommunications links and well-developed infrastructure. According to Rashid Al Leem, director- general of Sharjah Department of Seaports & Customs and of the Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA), the zone has become a leading driver of the burgeoning UAE economy, having attracted more than US$6 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI).
