Britain's decision to exit the EU likely will influence its relationships with allies and even its defense equipment spending power. But what happens next has been clouded by the Conservative government's indecision. Prime Minister Theresa May has delayed a parliamentary vote on the government's controversial exit deal with which the EU has agreed. The vote now is likely to take place in January at the earliest. But the deal is so toxic to UK lawmakers that the government probably will not be able to push it through Parliament. A vote to reject the agreement could result in the collapse of the government and trigger another general election, or Britain could end up exiting the EU on March 29 without a deal, likely resulting in a considerable economic shock.
