The U.S. Air Force Is making strides in replacing its refueling tankers, with Boeing KC-46s planned to be fielded later this year and Air Mobility Command (AMC) eyeing a stealthy, laser-wielding "KC-Z" in the 2030s. But less well-known is AMC's effort to modernize its transport fleet: the legacy C-130 Hercules, (C-17 Globemaster and C-5 Galaxy aircraft that ferry troops, cargo and equipment around the world in support of the joint force.
