Galaxy On Display

Lockheed C-5A Galaxy 69-0014 arrived with the Air Mobility Command Museum at Dover AFB, Delaware, on August 7. It will go on display as the only one of its type in a museum anywhere in the world, with regular guided tours through its cargo hold. The C-5 was stationed at Dover from 1973 to 1977 for an unusual test programme in which it became the first and only aircraft to launch an intercontinental ballistic missile while in flight. The museum is planning to repaint the jet in the white-over-grey colours from its period on test duty.
