Dutch Controllers Extend Mode S Surveillance

Air Traffic Control the Netherlands (LVNL) has introduced a new technique based on Mode-S Enhanced Surveillance to provide controllers with the latest flight information. The Dutch National Aerospace Laboratory developed and tested the prototypes and established the standards for the system. The technique provides controllers with extra information directly from aircraft systems.
