Falklands Macchi in Doncaster

Doncaster's South Yorkshire Air Museum has added ex-Comando de Aviacion Naval (Argentine naval air arm) Aermacchi MB.339A 0767 to its collection. Captured by British forces on June 14, 1982, the jet had been used during the Falklands War and was brought back to the UK. Passing to the Fleet Air Arm Museum, it then went into storage with Rolls-Royce in Derbyshire, remaining there for many years after being used in test work. The aircraft is the only example of an Argentine MB.339A in Europe; the only others outside Argentina are in the US.
