The main news this month is the launch of the new Irish 'EJ' register aimed at business jets. The marks consist of 'EJ-' plus four letters, allowing a wider range of personalised registrations. Available to all public-transport and non-commercial complex aircraft (basically owner operated) with a maximum take-off weight of over 5,700kg (12,566lb), it will run alongside the existing standard 'EI-' register. The UK register welcomes five new types this month. Flugsport-Zubehoer RelaX/Fresh Breeze BulliX G-CIOG is a paraplane from Germany, while G-CIRF is a French-built paramotor (worn like a back-pack). Sprite Stinger G-CISA is a low-winged, all-metal single seat deregulated (SSDR) microlight, while the three Sackville balloons have been built using the old Airtour Balloon templates, hence their designations. The last of the new types is G-WBRD, a replica of the 'Lakes Waterbird, the first consistently successful seaplane in Britain, which is to be flown from Lake Windermere as was the 1911 original.
