WestJet started services on its direct flights from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Glasgow, Scotland with a tartan-themed Boeing 737-700. The aircraft, C-GQWJ, had a custom-designed tartan scheme, made by weavers DC Dalgliesh in Selkirk, Scotland in the airline's blue and teal corporate colours, painted on the tail. WestJet Lead, Creative Services Lindsay Robertson said: "We wanted to create something unique to celebrate our new service to Scotland and what could be more Scottish than creating our own company tartan?" The first flight to Glasgow departed Halifax Stanfield International Airport on May 29. The daily, non-stop seasonal service will run until October.
