Poland Selects H225M Caracal

Poland's defence ministry has selected the Airbus Helicopters H225M Caracal as the preferred option to meet its requirement for new medium multi-purpose helicopters. The decision in favour of the EC725 Caracal Polska consortium, comprising Airbus Helicopters and Heli Invest, was announced on April 21. The ministry revealed in December that it had received three bids for the requirement, the other two coming from AgustaWestland's Polish subsidiary WSK PZL-Swidnik with the AW149, and Sikorsky's Polish subsidiary PZL Mielec, partnered with Sikorsky Aircraft and Sikorsky International Operations, which proposed the S-70i Black Hawk.
