A380 Suffers Uncontained Engine Failure

An investigation has been launched after an Air France Airbus A380 suffered a serious engine malfunction. The jet, F-HPJE (c 052), was flying at FL370 over Southern Greenland on flight AF066 from Paris/Charles de Gaulle to Los Angeles, when the number four engine suffered an uncontained failure. The pilots diverted to Goose Bay Airport in Canada where the aircraft, which was carrying 24 crew and 497 passengers, landed safely.
