The Luftwaffe unveiled C-160D Transall, 50+40, in a farewell colour scheme on March 9 at Hohn Air Base, Germany. The livery features elements from the type's 53-year career, including areas in white representing UN operations, DayGlo from early Luftwaffeservice and upper wings marked with German and French national colours. From 1968, the Luftwaffe operated more than 100 examples of the airlifter, produced by Franco-GermanTransporter Allianz. Final replacement of the Transall with Lufttransportgeschwader 63 (LTG63) by the Airbus A400M is expected in September.
