The initial A380 for All Nippon Airways (ANA) has rolled out of the Airbus paint shop in Hamburg, Germany, wearing a distinctive and unique Hawaiian green sea turtle livery. ANA has firm orders for three A380s, and is currently the only Japanese customer for the superjumbo. It will take delivery of the first A380 later this year and will operate the aircraft on the Narita-Honolulu leisure route. The trio of A380s will each be painted in a special livery depicting sea turtles, which are native to Hawaii, with the first aircraft, rolled out on December 13, in a blue colour scheme. The second will be green and the third orange. The livery, one of the most elaborate ever painted by Airbus, took a team 21 days to paint a surface of 3,600m2 using 16 different shades of colour.
