Portuguese Koala Delivered

On February 18, the Forca Aerea Portuguesa (FAP, Portuguese Air Force) took delivery of its first pair of Leonardo AW119Kx Koalas (serials 29701 and 29702) in a ceremony at Beja Air Base. The ceremony was attended by Minister of National Defence Joao Gomes Cravinho, the FAP's chief of staff Gen Manuel Rolo and representatives of Leonardo Helicopters. Following the launch of a tender in May 2017, the AW119Kx was selected and a contract for five was signed on December 27 the same year, including an option for two additional examples.
